Beer, Wine & Cocktails

Pina Colada, Craft Beers, Kim Crawford, Guiness? Whatever your tipple, there is plenty to choose from on Anna Maria Island!

There are lots of awesome places to get a great drink and take advantage of a Happy Hour! But these are the places we will go to get the very best of what’s on offer!

The Doctors Office in Holmes Beach serve a huge selection of tempting cocktails. Beautifully crafted recipes, you will find many old favorites, but some new concotions and regularly changing menu with specialties, put together by an expert team. Enjoy with a nice selection of bars snacks, as you work your way through the menu!

The Waterfront Restaurant also have a great bar team, serving great cocktails from their regular menu but always check out the specials board, where they have some incredible signature cocktails, often with a bar tenders story to accompany it! The Waterfront also has a lovely selection of fine wines and beers, including some gluten free.

However, if you fancy something a little more hearty, one of our favorite cocktails on the island is the Ugly Mary. And is a must to try while your here! The Ugly Mary is the signature bloody mary at the Ugly Grouper and getting through the garnishes, which wouldn’t look out of place on a pizza is a feat in itself! A huge jug of a this delicious, spicy and ‘meaty’ drink will certainly put hairs on your chest!

Fine dining with a fine wine collection and liquor can be found at the Beach Bistro, a cellar full of some of the best wines from around the world!

And if you’re a fan of the black stuff, the Feckled Finn in Holmes Beach serves up Guiness. And other pubs such as Decoy Ducks, Slims and Duffy’s Taverns are ideal for a beer, some local chatter, and plenty of sports screens.

Bridge Street also has some great bars. Island Time & Grill is a great place to dip out of the sun. The Tiki Bar toward Bridge Street Pier, is simply a big square bar, usually full with a loud atmosphere. And Bridge Street Tender, has a lovely outside bar, on the waters edge. Cosy, casual, great bar food, and usually lots of fun company!

Other favorite spots of ours is our two island Piers. Currently, City Pier is in the process of being re-built but Rod & Reel has a real cosy bar underneath the restaurant, serving some of the cheapest draft lager than anywhere on the island!

The Sandbar is also a must if not just for the drinks but the views across the beach. Enjoy a cocktail or glass of bubbly as the sunsets!

And, if you sample a little too much of our island offerings, don’t forget you can hop on the Free Trolley Bus to get you home, or call for the Monkey Bus; a fun island transportation service, that will come and pick you, and drop you off, simply give them a tip!

But you don’t even need to go out. Sometimes there is no place quite like home. Enjoy the beautiful setting of your own rental. Whether it be sat on the deck at Mintfish, looking out across the water or watching the sun set from Limefish, you can stock up for your rental home with all your favorites, at Anna Maria General Store, who have a big selection of wines, and beers, including some nice local craft offerings. Hurricane Hanks in Holmes beach is good for hard liquor and there is Publix just as you come onto the island.
